BA Collection

I completed my undergraduate degree in Fashion in May 2013.
For my last year of university I focused on plus size fashion.
My dissertation was entitled 'Has the perception of the plus size body changed over the years?', and for my FMP (final major project) I designed, pattern cut, and made a 12 piece plus size collection in size UK22.

This is what I made:

High waisted shorts, and pintucked raglan shirt.

Panelled shirt dress.

Bralet dress

Piped cape

Panelled silk crop top
Pleated pattern skirt

High-waisted pattern trousers

Patterned bralet
Pink caped jacket
White high-waisted trousers
Spotty ruffled crop top

For my graduate show, held in Southampton, I sourced my own models, some of which are plus size bloggers that you may recognise. They did a great job on the day, and I was immensely proud:

There's meant to be an official video from my university, but I am yet to see it. However, my Dad did film my show on his camera. It's not the best quality but here it is:
Me with my models:

At the show I was interviewed by Big Girl's Paradise magazine, and they were lovely enough to feature me in their 6th Issue which you can view here:
I have also been featured in Fett Magazine and was a 'designer to watch' on Garner Style. My plus size collection has also given me the opportunity to be nominated for a British Plus Size Award 2013 for 'Best Achievement'! Results in November 2013.
Thanks for everyone's support on here, Twitter and Tumblr - especially with helping me find models. The feedback has been amazing!
