The Curious Churchyard

Kimono - ASOS Curve, Dress - Alice & You @ ASOS, Shoes - ASOS, Necklace - H&M,
Bag - Zatchels, Belt - Dorothy Perkins, Headband - Gift from Sally (originally Topshop)
Hello!
So the heat definitely has surprised us here in London and the UK, and for me it's not a surprise I enjoy as I hate hot weather! It also makes taking pictures pretty hard, believe it or not, as the sun is just too bright and makes pictures look way over-exposed. It means a lot of playing around with the settings! Anyway, as we were pre-warned about this 'heat wave' I decided to treat myself at the last moment to this kimono. I'm not sure why as I've never been a kimono person nor did I think I ever would be! But I saw this pretty crochet one on ASOS and thought it would be a great alternative to cardigans in the hot weather, as I always like to have something on other my dresses. I am so happy with this kimono that I now want more, preferably in every colour and pattern please! And this pretty headband was a lovely gift from Sally that she found at a car boot sale, originally for Topshop. I love it and goes really well with this Alice & You dress from ASOS. I'm also glad that my roots don't look too bad in that close up of the headband, because I'm way overdue dying my hair! As it was so sunny we decided to take a trip to this little church in Redbourn where my Grandma's ashes are buried and her memorial rose is planted. It's only been two years since she died so the rose bush needs time to grow, but it was nice to visit as I hadn't see it since it was planted. Are you enjoying the hot weather, or do you hate it like me? And what do you think of kimono's - yes or no?

  2. I love kimonos. I have one cream lacy one but want moarrr. The hot weather makes me feel murderous. I seem to be OK in the 60s, but when it goes up to the 70s and 80s I can't handle the heat at all. x x

  4. You always have the most lovely backdrops. And the trees in this one remind me of the Whomping Willow! Maybe they're common where you live? Not so much here! I've also come to love the look of an oversize cardigan/kimono over a dress. It keeps things relaxed and airy and pretty. And that headband! I adore it! Like something a wood nymph would wear.

    1. Thank you! I'm always looking for interesting backdrops. You're right, these trees do look like whomping willows! And I love the sound of a 'wood nymph' :) xx
