Hello! And welcome to Fatshion February!
I'm going to be doing a small series of posts on plus size fashion events throughout february, this being the first, so keep an eye out!
On Wednesday evening I had the lovely pleasure of being invited to the launch event of The Cut for Evans at their Marble Arch store. I've been really excited about the new collection for a long time, having seen images floating about for months, and getting to see some samples whilst I interned at Evans a few months ago.
The Cut is so bright and vibrant, and something we've never seen before in plus size fashion with such daring prints. It's designed by fashion students (I would've loved to have entered), and it's great to see new talent coming through and thinking outside the black hanky hem tent box. Although it's not all to my personal taste (I did try on the two shirts but they really clashed with my hair) but I think it's a great step forward for the world of plus size fashion, and I look forward to seeing how everyone wears the new collection in their individual way.
It was great getting to meet all the lovely bloggers that I've never met before, all of which were so friendly. There was also a hair and makeup bar, and a nail bar but I didn't get anything done. Brix Smith was there to do an introduction for the collection and also Whitney Thompson modelling some of the clothes (plus size model who won season 10 of America's Next Top Model). Overall I had a really great night and I want to thank Evans for inviting me!
